The CCREA is dedicated to improving the quality of life for retired educational personnel by providing interesting and informational programs and social situations for CCREA Members; by working with NJREA, NJEA, & NEA organizing for the common good, to pass beneficial state and federal legislation, and get friends of the educational community elected; by providing a wide variety of member services; and by keeping members informed about health insurance and pensions.
What we do:
The CCREA is committed to serving the needs of the NJEA Retired members who are members of the Cumberland County Retired Educators Association, be it life or annual membership. The Horseshoe Crab, the CCREA newsletter, is published five times a year. Luncheon meetings are held in October, December, and April. Members are encouraged to attend NJREA, NJEA, and Cumberland County Council of Educational Associations events, such as the NJREA meetings, NJREA Convention (November), CCCEA/NJEA Fall Focus (October), NJEA Legislative Conference (February), and CCCEA Legislative Dinner (May). The CCREA also sponsors a scholarship for a graduating senior from each of the county high schools who will study education at a college or university.
